Dan is a retired businessman who has dedicated himself to philanthropy, and is Beauty Bus’ Founding Board Chair. In addition to extensively giving his time to volunteer at organizations, Dan has served on the Board of Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles, Camp Max Straus, and the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging and several other boards.
Wendy Marantz Levine
Wendy is an attorney, who founded Beauty Bus with her cousin Alicia in memory of Wendy’s sister, Melissa Marantz Nealy. Wendy left her job as Director of Litigation at a large legal services firm in Los Angeles, assisting the elderly, poor and disabled to join Beauty Bus full time. Previously in her law career, Wendy practiced in a large private law firm, taught law school and worked for a federal judge. She graduated from Duke University and the University of Michigan Law School.
Tayiika M. Dennis
Tayiika Dennis is a Partner at NSBN LLP, CPAs & Business Consultants, providing audit and tax services for nonprofit organizations, including OMB Uniform Guidance (Single Audit)audits with a special focus on funding streams and government contracts. In October 2016, Ty was one of six women presented with the 2016 Women of Achievement award by the Century City Chamber of Commerce. Ty served as the 2015-2016 President of the California Society of CPAs Los Angeles Chapter. In April 2014 she was recognized by the California Society of Certified Public Accountants with one of only four Women to Watch Awards, recognizing service and contributions to the CPA Profession. Prior to joining NSBN, Tayiika worked at a large international CPA firm, a regional CPA firm, and at Universal Studios as a financial analyst. Tayiika enjoys advising her nonprofit clients to run an effective organization, knowing the challenges of complying with regulations surrounding nonprofits.
Dr. Eva Schaff-Blass
Eva is a Pediatrician whose medical career has included clinical work, teaching, management and administration. Soon after completing her medical training at the University of Michigan, Eva opened a pediatric practice in Bowling Green, Ohio where she continued to provide health care to children for next twenty years. She subsequently taught and practiced pediatrics at IUPUI School of Medicine in Indianapolis, and at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Most recently, Eva served as Medical Director for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of North Carolina. Eva’s work has been published in various medical journals, including The Journal of Pediatrics.
Jay Halaby is President of Jay Halaby and Associates, a national Manufacturer’s Representation Organization in the Beauty Field. Jay started Halaby and Associates in April of 2001 with one other representative and his wife, Alex, working part time. The company now has 25 salespeople, servicing Full Service Distributors, Nail Supplies, Beauty Supply Stores and Re-Distributors in all beauty channels across the country. He recently added salespeople to work in Latin America. Jay has over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry. A native to Southern California, Jay is a graduate of University California, Irvine with a B.S. Degree in Chemistry, and a minor in Management. He and Alex have two children and have been caregivers to their elderly parents.
Tracy Sandler is the creator of Fangirl Sports Network, which is a network of women who bring knowledge, passion and humor to the life of the sports fan. Tracy began as 49ers Fangirl in September 2015, bringing fans the latest news and behind-the-scenes action both on and off the field for her beloved San Francisco team. Tracy expanded FGSN this season with the addition of Rams Fangirl in Los Angeles.
Before FGSN, Tracy worked for Adrian Fenty in the Executive Office of the Mayor in Washington, DC and then ran his non profit Forward Faster. She attended the University of Michigan. Go Blue!
Andrea is the majority owner and principle conservator of Sculpture Conservation Studio, a Los Angeles based full service facility for the preservation and conservation of sculpture, architecture preservation, and working with public art programs in cities and airports all over California. Andee is a published author on conservation issues and a member of the American Institute of Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works. She previously served on the boards of the Frederick Weisman Foundation and the Municipal Arts Gallery. Andee holds a Masters of Art from San Francisco State University.
Julie Lacouture is a consultant to non‐profit organizations, bringing them the insight, planning, and creative solutions that she learned from working in marketing, the non‐profit sector, and starting her own business. Her focus is on raising capital, supporters, and awareness for organizations so they can better achieve their missions. Prior to her consulting work, Julielaunched the Los Angeles franchise of a national staffing and recruiting firm focused on flexible jobs for working mothers. There, her team was awarded “Rising Star” franchise, for the city with the most growth. Prior to her recruiting experience, she was the Senior Director of Program Expansion at DonorsChoose.org where she created cause marketing partnerships with brands such as Disney, Experian, and Participant Productions. Her non‐profit experience also includes work with Peace Games, as the Director of Communications, and at the Teen Action Campaign, where she was the Associate Campaign Manager for a national PSA campaign aimed at teenagers. Julie started her career as a copywriter for brands such as Coldwell Banker and McDonald’s and worked on the public relations team at Oscar Mayer. She holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and degrees in Psychology and Advertising from Syracuse University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
